she’s got the whole wide world in her juicy fruit

Here’s some musical and visual content for you. My buddy Sam is an awesome videographer and just put out his cinematography reel for 2011. He always uses great music in his videos, and this is no exception. But this is by far the best video he’s ever put out, in terms of filming, flow, and editing. This is some (not so) shameless promotion of his talents, props!
A friend played this song for me and I can’t stop listening to it–its a fantastic song to begin with plus Jamie XX of the XX plus Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover, who plays Troy on the show Community).
That’s right ladies and gentleman, what better way to start the first week back at school with the FIRST EVER WINTER SHOW AT RED ROCKS? Atmosphere, Common and Grieves this Friday.
Protean genius David Lynch can’t help but be better than everybody at everything. The dark lord of all things strange and sublime, his appreciation for the uncanny power of subtle surreality infuses all of his work, imbuing it–and, by extension, the scenes of middle American banality typically depicted therein–with a kind of ill-begotten, paranoid profundity. While Lynch’s remix of Zola Jesus’ “In Your Nature” surely doesn’t ascend to the magical heights of, say, Blue Velvet, it nevertheless bears traces of his enigmatic aesthetic. Shimmering guitars, plodding drums, and an ominous grinding sound lend a certain hypnotic momentum to Nika Danilova’s powerful vocal performance that the original utterly lacks. This is one of those rare instances when the remix wins.
